CAHB 2020: Nigeria open campaign with defeat to DR Congo

Nigeria’s senior women’s handball team started their campaign at the 2020 Senior Women’s Handball African Cup of Nations taking place in Cameroon with a 16-35 defeat to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.

DR Congo opened a 15 points lead over Nigeria by halftime at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex.

This is Nigeria’s senior women’s handball team’s first campaign in the Nations Cup since the 1994 edition.

Nigeria will play host, Cameroon in their next group game on June 10, 2021, to be followed by their final group game with Kenya on June 12, 2021.
